1. DANCE NAKED
This is something you can do right now. Just take everything off and go dance in front of the mirror. I bet you’ll smile or laugh or sing. It’s hard to be angry or stressed when you see yourself dancing nude. Bring some joy into your life, feel carefree, and let go of your stress. Dancing naked is therapeutic. I’m surprised the medical profession doesn’t suggest it.
Once you’ve mastered the mirror dance, try dancing nude outdoors (disclaimer: make sure you are in a legal naturist environment). Some nudist resorts have campfires or drum circles where you can dance around. If you’re too shy to dance in front of others, find a quiet nature trail and twirl around.
Never underestimate the power of dance…especially when naked. How about we naturists propose a “world naked dance day” (if this ever becomes a real thing, just remember you heard it here first)! Can you imagine if the whole world at the same time dropped everything (literally) and started dancing naked? Wow! Would we have wars, violence, and the like? I would hope not. Now go do the world a favor and make a few nude moves.
2. EXERCISE NAKED
You probably can’t exercise nude at your local gym, but who says you can’t at your own place? All you need is a towel to sit on. Then do your regular routine while wearing nothing at all. You’ll eliminate sweaty clothes, and your body will stay cooler. You might be surprised at how motivated you will be. After all, exercising can be a chore. Why not make it more exciting by doing it nude.
If you’re looking for public and legal spaces to exercise, many naturist resorts have gym equipment. If you’re hesitant about exercising nude in front of others, then try some home-based movement activities. You can do sit-ups, push-ups, stretches, or yoga. You might find these activities easier to accomplish without clothing.
I often wonder why no one has thought of opening a nude gym franchise. (if these start popping up everywhere, remember that you heard it here first). What a great concept: a nude gym. Why hasn’t anyone ever thought of that before? Oh wait, they have. Gymnasium comes from the Greek term “gymnos” which means “nude.” We all know that the ancient Olympic games were performed by nude athletes. Clearly they understood the power of nude exercise.
3. WALK IN THE WOODS NAKED
Find yourself a quiet nature trail in a naturist resort and explore the woods naked. Don’t get yourself into legal trouble by going to a public park. Many nudist resorts have trails that you can explore. Just remember to wear bug spray if necessary and a good pair of shoes.
There’s something magical about walking through the woods with no clothes on. You almost feel at one with the natural world around you. The trees rise from the earth and survive with no man-made clothing. Even though clothes are useful to man, it’s nice to experience just a moment in time where we can be just like those trees: Tall, proud, and uncovered as nature intended.
The next time you’re in the woods naked, try to focus on the smell of nature, the sounds you hear, the wind you feel, and the calm you experience. Every person should have a chance to walk nude in the woods at some point. You might just discover a greater sense of well-being.
4. PRAY OR MEDITATE NAKED
Prayer and/or mediation should be a part of your life. For me, it’s about thanking God and asking for guidance in my life. For others, meditation can be a way to eliminate the distractions of life and focus on what’s important. No matter your perspective on it, consider doing it nude.
Some cultures have practiced praying naked, so it’s not really a new concept. I’m not suggesting that God only hears you if you’re naked. That’s nonsense. Rather, it can be a symbolic way to humble yourself when connecting with your spirituality.
You might consider that praying naked is probably more what God intended in the first place. The creation story of Adam and Eve has many messages to convey, but the one that pops out the most is that God originally intended for humans to be nude. If that’s so, then why aren’t we trying to turn things around by helping to recreate that original story?
Praying and meditating naked is not about sex or immorality. It’s about humbling yourself, eliminating worldly distractions, and connecting with something greater than yourself. Now go exercise your spiritual self, but get naked first.
5. BE CREATIVE WHILE NAKED
Some people don’t consider themselves to be creative, but like everything, you can learn to be good at almost anything. We are not born knowing how to read, but we learn to be good at it by doing it. Likewise, your creative side can improve through effort and repeated practice.
Whether you paint, sculpt, draw, make a craft, or do photography, doing so in the nude can be more inspiring. Why not consider drawing yourself nude while nude. The picture might even make you laugh, and laughing at yourself can be therapeutic.
Some family-friendly naturist resorts have crafts for kids. They might do fun stuff like painting pet rocks, tie-dying, play-doh modeling, and drawing. Why should kids get to have all the fun? Adults should exercise their creativity because it’s a fun and “au naturel” way to express yourself. Maybe you should encourage your local naturist resort to have “creatively nude” sessions where you can display your artistic side. Now, if that becomes a popular thing, remember you heard it here first!
There you have it: Five simple things to do while nude. Whether you dance, exercise, pray, walk, or make art, you might discover that doing it nude brings more joy and balance into your day. Now go get nude and start having more fun in your life!
P.S. It just dawned on me that I’ve written this article completely clothed. Excuse me while I go practice what I just preached!
